How to Change Touchpad Sensitivity on Your Laptop

September 30, 2024

Is your laptop's touchpad too sensitive? Or maybe it's not responding well enough? Here's how to adjust it:

On Windows 11

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Go to Settings (the gear icon)
  3. Click Bluetooth & devices
  4. Click Touchpad
  5. Adjust the "Touchpad sensitivity" setting

On Windows 10

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Click Devices
  4. Click Touchpad
  5. Adjust the sensitivity settings

Sensitivity Options

  • Most sensitive: The touchpad responds to the lightest touch
  • High sensitivity: Good for light typists
  • Medium sensitivity: Balanced setting (default)
  • Low sensitivity: Requires more pressure, good if you accidentally trigger the touchpad while typing
